We've decided to try something different (insert Monty Python Flying Circus voice here). After reviewing many different ads and posts across the internet, we have found that quite often what someone needs is just a little bit of a helping hand - perhaps to update a logo, install a module, slightly modify a theme, change the colors in a web layout, etc.

The time that it takes to find a web developer or designer to perform a fairly simple task hardly seems worth the time and frustration. And yes, I think one of the things that we observe is frustration.

So our solution is to offer a free service that we're going to call our Honest Abe Web Customization Service. If you need fairly simple CSS or HTML code adjustments; modification of a logo, graphic or PHP-template; installation of modules, themes, or components for an open source system; or something else along these lines, we will do it for free.

No, we're not kidding. This is what we have in mind. We're going to offer this service to make it as simple as possible for people to get help with relatively simple tasks. Once completed, you are welcome to leave a tip. No, we're not going to chase you down for a tip - this is the "honest abe" part.

If we find that we get hundreds of requests and no tips, then we'll probably have to stop offering this service - we have bills to pay like everyone else. But we think its a good idea and that it will work.

The two things we ask is that you leave a tip that you feel is fair if you want to do so. And we also ask that you tell others about this service. These two things will help us to keep offering this service to as many people as possible.
